Creamy Velveeta Shells and Cheese

If you are a fan of the Velveeta Shells and Cheese, you should definitely try this!  It was really super duper easy and you'll have TONS of Shells and Cheese to enjoy with your family!  And, it was tasty!

I bought some Velveeta last week when it was on sale and noodles are always super cheap, so this is a very budget friendly meal!

If you can make the kind from the box, you can make this.  LOL  This is a recipe any beginner or seasoned Slow Cooker can handle!  Give it a try!

Oh, and one of our readers requested this during our last giveaway!  I hope she enjoys it!

Creamy Velveeta Shells and Cheese

Ingredients:
1 12oz. can Evaporated Milk
3 cups Milk
3/4lb. Pasta shells (I used the minis, but use whatever pasta you want!)
1/2 stick Butter
16oz. Velveeta Cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Spray your slow cooker insert with non-stick spray (I used a Reynolds Slow Cooker liner because they are awesome!)
In your insert, pour the evaporated milk, milk, pasta, butter, salt and pepper and give a little stir.

Cook on LOW for 4 hours stirring occasionally.
Cut your velveeta up into smaller pieces add to your slow cooker.
Stir it in.
Put the lid back on and turn it on HIGH.  Go back about 10 minutes later.  Stir it up.  It should be just about ready to go.  If not, let it cook a few minutes longer.
Serve and Enjoy!

  6. Have you ever doubled this? I'm curious to know if the pasta cooks through all the way if the recipe is doubled. I am making mac & cheese for my son's birthday party, and want to make sure that I have enough.

  7. Do you add everything at one time? It says that you cook for 4 hrs and then add cheese? Maybe I am misunderstanding. I am making this today and need to know!! Thank you!

    2. Do you cook the pasta for four hours or the milk mixture for four hours?

    3. Sara, as stated in the directions above, you cook the pasta and milk mixture for 4 hours, then add the cheese after that.

    1. I've never doubled it. As long as you use a bigger crock, it should cook just fine.

  12. Followed instructions. It was a mushy mess. :((( so disappointed. I think four hours was to long for me. About 2.5 hours into cooking, I thought it looked done. Should have went my gut :(

    1. Times always vary depending on the size of your crock and if it cooks hotter or cooler than the average slow cooker.

    2. if you're using a large slow cooker (5 qt-6 qt), cooking tine in half.

  13. If I make this then leave it on the 'warm' setting on the crock pot for a couple of hours afterwards, is it likely to overcook?

    1. I can't say for sure, but I think the most that would happen is it might get a little crispy in the hot spot of your slow cooker. (Every slow cooker has one)
