Obviously, I didn't leave my house for any ingredients. I had everything here! YAY! I had celery pre-washed, peeled a few carrots, chopped a couple leftover onion pieces that were already peeled, grabbed frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts from my freezer, added some seasoning and that's about it! Easy, easy, easy!!!!
Use whatever kind of noodles you like here. I had some large shells, which were kind of fun for a change because they held in some of the chicken and veggies with each bite! Mmmmmmm!
Ok, here's what you came for!
Chicken Noodle Soup
Ingredients: (Makes approx. 6 servings)
2 FROZEN large boneless skinless chicken breasts (you can use thawed and cut down cooking time)
3-4 stalks celery, chopped
3-4 carrots, chopped
1 onion, chopped
8 cups water
6 chicken bouillon cubes
1 Tbsp. Mrs. Dash original
1 tsp. salt
2 bay leaves
1-1.5 cups uncooked pasta
Directions: (Use a 5 Quart or larger Slow Cooker for this Recipe)
Place your frozen chicken breasts in the bottom of your crock.
Add your chopped onions, celery and carrots.
Add Mrs. Dash, salt, bay leaves and chicken bouillon cubes.
Pour the water over the top.
Cook on LOW for 8-10 hours or on HIGH for 4-5 hours.
Shred your chicken either by taking it out and pulling it between two forks, or like I did, by pulling it apart in the crock with tongs!
Turn your crock to warm and add your pasta about 20 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!
I had planned on making this yesterday but I ended up forgetting to start it and had to take my kids to the Dr. we ended up just making a quick version on the stove which was yummy too. Hopefully I will try this again soon and actually get to slow cook it!
ReplyDeleteYou'll make it happen, no worries! :)
DeleteI made this the other day. It was absolutely delicious. This recipe is a KEEPER!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear it!
DeleteThis is the third time I am making this. I always have frozen chicken breasts and am not the greatest planner. I double the recipe and give some away. Last time I shared it with a friend who just had surgery and I plan to share this batch with a friend starting chemo. My son who just graduated from college is coming home tonight after a trip to Spain with his good buddies. The house will smell good when he walks in. Thanks for sharing and I love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you love this so much!
DeleteThis was the first time making this soup and it was DELICIOUS! Definitely the best chicken noodle soup I've ever had. Seriously!! My daughters & I have a summer cold and feel miserable. I couldn't believe how simple this recipe was to make, which was perfect because I was lacking energy today. I had two bowls of it, and to my surprise, so did my daughters. This scrumptious recipe is going in the front of my recipe box. Thanks! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you all feel better! And I'm happy it's going to the front of your recipe box too!
DeleteDid you cook the noodles before adding them or let them cook during those last 20 min on warm?
ReplyDeleteI did NOT cook them first.
DeleteI just made this. It smells heavenly! I just added some garlic, green pepper and mushroom for my hubby, but otherwise stuck to your recipe. I can't wait to try it. Thanks for posting!
