Easy Chicken

Well, it's just like it's title! Easy Chicken was easy peasy! I did make a couple of changes to the recipe to make it my own. I added some onions and white wine (of course!). My husband and daughter ate this right up! I served it with chicken flavored rice/vermicelli and corn because it's what I had on hand. I recommend this recipe for when you have a few extra minutes in the morning since the chicken is supposed to be frozen when you put it in the crock pot. This morning, I pulled some chicken out of the freezer and just tossed everything in with it while i microwaved the liquid for 1 1/2 minutes. Thanks to one of my good friends for sharing this recipe!

Ingredients;
4 frozen chicken breasts (I used some thighs and legs)
1 package Dry Italian Dressing Mix
1 cup of warm water, chicken broth or white whine (I used 1/2 cup white wine and 1/2 cup broth)
1/4 cup chopped onion

Directions:
Place frozen chicken in the Slow Cooker and sprinkle with dry Italian Dressing and onions.
Warm liquid and pour over the chicken.
Cook on low for up to 10 hours. Print Friendly and PDF

  1. This meal saved me from a hair emergency. I went in for a simple cut. Once it was cut, my color looked bad! The girl had time to color it so I said let's go. By the time it was done, I was an hour and a half late coming home. Thank goodness I didn't have to fret about dinner!

  3. if you don't happen to have dry dressing and chicken broth on hand, you can use a bottle of italian dressing instead.

  4. I wouldn't use a whole bottle of Italian Dressing....it's pretty potent stuff! I would use maybe 1/4 cup water instead and then maybe 1/2 cup Italian Dressing. OR if you have an open bottle of white wine, use that in place of the water!

  7. So, Reese happened to add an unknown amount of milk to my crockpot while my back turned. I had already added the chicken, the seasoning, the onions, and was getting the wine, when I turned around and found my chicken floating in milk. I added some shredded Parmesan cheese, and some bread crumbs on top to attempt to absorb some of the milk. The result, was a fabulous 'sauce' on the chicken, AND a 'crust' on the tops of the chicken breasts. It was divine!!! Just thought I would share! ~Lindsay

  12. So how long does it need to cook if it's frozen to be safe to eat and at the right temp? I'm confused because the directions say "up to" 10 hours
