Sweet and Tangy Pulled Chicken Sandwiches

This was super easy and super delicious!  As I was "throwing" this together today, my daughter Ella, came with me to the refrigerator and helped me pick out the ingredients!  We did a good job!  The chicken turned out sweet and tangy, just like the title says!  Hopefully these are all ingredients you have right in your refrigerator too!

We took the advice of one of my fans and went to Jimmy John's for 50 cent day old loaves of bread to make our sandwiches with!  Such a great idea!  It was super yummy!  We all cleaned our plates!

Sweet and Tangy Pulled Chicken Sandwiches

Ingredients:
1.5-2 lb. FROZEN Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 (180z. or so) bottle of BBQ Sauce (We used Sweet Baby Ray's Original)
1 small red onion, halved and sliced
1/4 cup Catalina Dressing
2 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
2 Tsp. Worcestershire Sauce

Directions:
Place Frozen Chicken in the bottom of your slow cooker insert and top with the onions.

In a bowl, place the BBQ Sauce, Dijon Mustard, Worcestershire Sauce and Catalina Dressing.
Mix well....
(Excuse the mess on our counter!)
and pour this mixture over the chicken and onions.

Cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours or on LOW for 8-9 hours.

Shred the chicken with two forks and place it back in the sauce.
Mix it well with the sauce.

Serve on some yummy buns/loaves of bread and Enjoy!

  1. Delicious! Had the family pop in unexpectedly, and I was excited to share this with them! We all LOVED it.

Do you think I could foodsaver the chicken & onions, and the sauce seperately then freeze? I'm looking for a way to make several meals ahead if time, the foodsaver and freeze so all I have to do is drop in the ingredients and turn on the slow cooker. Have you ever tried this?

  2. Jen, I think that would work perfectly! I've never tried it, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work!
