Aren't they adorable??????!!!!!!
From the moment we walked into Emagine Theater in Royal Oak, we were amazed at all the fun ahead of us! There were Oogilove play tents with tunnels to crawl through......Glittericiousness Tattoos......and our very own sets to take home so we could continue the glittericiousness at home....and we have! LOL
There was a guy on a unicycle (who was super friendly and who offered to hold Gavin....no thanks!!! LOL) and a clown on stilts making balloon animals.....
and so so so much more!
We then headed into the "bowling area" where there were tables decorated with LOTS of fun stuff, like beach balls, BALLOONS GALORE, cotton candy, frisbees, stickers....and the list goes on and on!
They served hot dogs, pizza, funnel cakes, Faygo Rootbeer Floats and Bumpy Cake for dessert! We were on a super duper sugar high by the time the movie was about to start!
Did I mention they were also giving out Movie Theater sized boxes of candy?!!!!!!!
As we walked into the theater, we were able to grab buckets of popcorn and drinks of our choice. The kids were all given fun light up butterfly wands to wave around during the movie. This is where you might think, "That's Crazy!!!" But, no! This is a movie unlike any other! The movie is intereactive! The kids get to get up and dance, when fun butterflys fly across the screen, and when it's time to sit, cute little turtles strut across the screen!
The movie was awesome! We enjoyed it tremendously! My daughter can't stop singing the songs!
On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of meeting the movie's producer, Ken Viselmann, and the writer, Scott Stabile in a round table discussion where he shared the vision for this movie. They wanted to make the movie and active experience instead of a passive experience; One in which caretakers could actually interact with their children. The movie breaks down that 4th wall and actually speaks to the children and gets them involved.
The movie is geared toward 3-5 year olds, but kids as old as 10 are found to be enjoying it! My 1 year old had TONS of fun and didn't start "losing it" until the last 5 minutes or so of the movie.....he just got really quirmy is all. Ella, my 4 year old, L-O-V-E-D every minute of it!!!! I found this movie to be an extremely refreshing break from all the other so-called "kids" movies that have come out recently! Have you noticed that there are no G-rated movies coming out anymore?! They are usually PG, contain violence, are scary and include a lot of adult humor, which can be inappropriate for our young children. This movie is rated G, but the Oogiloves wants you to think of it as Rated GGG! There is NO violence, only LOVE and the message to take love and spread it as far as possible! I hope that the masses help make the idea of Rated GGG movies something that is in the future for our chidren's sake. We need YOU! Let's help promote this movie and it's message, and it's goodness! If you're a twitter follower, you can follow them @TheOogiloves and Hashtag #RatedGGG. You can also follow them on Facebook here.
The movie was filmed in Detroit as part of the Detroit Initiative. They have teamed up with Henry Ford Hospital on the "Get Healthy Initiative" for children ages 2+. Instead of spending money on an after-party, they donated the money to this initiative! How refreshing to see them "giving-back!"
I'm so excited for the rest of the world to see this movie with their children on "Oogest" 29!!!!!

That looks like a lot of fun - so cute! One question though...do you find it odd that they loaded everyone up with sugary junk food before the movie, yet they are part of the "get healthy" initiative? When we went to the Imagination Movers concert, they didn't sell candy or pop...only water, 100% juice boxes and healthy snacks. Lots of people there were bothered by that, but I thought it was great! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit odd, now that you mention it! That's very cool about the Imagination Movers concert. I would be happy to attend an event like that. I'm usually the "odd" mom out when it comes to sweets. We call them "special treats" around here because they are for special times. Not for every day!
