  1. Great video, I totally agree! My boys are 5 and 7. I make it a point to teach them the fundamentals they need to succeed. My mom was awesome but did too much for me. I didn't realize it until I was an adult. It was very hard for me. Now, I try to make my kids do a bit more so they will be ok when older.

  7. I tweetered: https://twitter.com/KristinePhot0_j/status/304691866501255171

We involve our daughter in everything from making phone calls to fixing things around the house. It's important to be able to take initiative when things come up and learning at an early age gives you confidence to do just that.

  8. So crucial to teach responsibility. I would have a fit if my kids got to college and didn't know how to do dishes, laundry, etc. I will probably be one of the tough moms...But I don't care ;)

  9. My mother taught me how to do everything. I teach my children the same. I don't want them to be useless in their lives. https://twitter.com/MamaNibbles/status/304814853216927744

  10. My kids are late HS and beyond. It's interesting to see how/what they have learned & what they still need to catch onto. :)

  11. So far, my daughter is an excellent mimic - so she does the things I do without realizing why, I think. https://twitter.com/BeckiB/status/304959470201626624
