FoodSaver $aver Sunday BBQ Party!

*Disclosure: I was sent FoodSaver supplies and gift card to host a FoodSaver $aver Sunday Party.  All opinions expressed here are entirely my own and may differ from others'.

I have to admit, FoodSaver gave me a very good reason to spend some QT with my friends before I head back to work!  I had such a fun time making delicious food with the help of my FoodSaver, showing/telling them about the FoodSaver and laughing!  We had our biggest laugh at the end with our grand finale.....I'm not going to spoil it yet.  You'll have to keep reading to find out why we laughed so hard! ;) (I'm such a tease!)

FoodSaver sent me a bunch of supplies to make my party a success, including a $25 Walmart Gift Card!

The party prep began the night before.  I marinated Mozzarella Balls and steak for the "Marinated Beef Brochettes" in the Recipe Book FoodSaver sent me for the party, and I put the pork in my slow cooker crock for the "Mini Carnitas Taco" which is also from the same recipe book.
Recipe: 1 pkg. Pearl Mozzarella Balls
1 Tbsp. Garlic Powder
1 Tsp. Italian Seasoning
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. basil
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

Around lunch time, I prepped a delicious guacamole!  I didn't have to worry about it going brown because I had my handy FoodSaver!  One of my guests, Henry, commented on this and thought it was a brilliant idea!

At 3:00, I set up for my party (which started at 4:00)!

I got to cutting out little circles for my Mini Carnitas Tacos, which ending up looking like this....
These. Were. Amazing.
Gavin ate a ton of them...not bad for a 2 year old!!!
We have lots of leftover meat, so this will go into a FoodSaver Bag for another time!

I then skewered my mozzarella balls with basil and tomatoes....
These were as delicious as they look.  I still have some left I keep munching on!  Such a refreshing appetizer!

I put out my chips and Guacamole....but not until the guests arrived!  I wanted them to see it come out of the FoodSaver Bag so they would marvel at how green it was even though I had made it 5 hours previous!
Here is the recipe I used. I could eat this all. day. long.  Seriously.  You don't even need chips!  I ate it the next day with carrots.  LOL  I thought about just eating it with a spoon.....

Lastly, I skewered my Marinated Beef Brochettes.  I changed the recipe and exchanged mushrooms for green pepper.
I forgot to take a picture, so here is what was left of about 20 skewers!
They were delish! I successfully cooked them on the grill without burning them and not overcooking them!  Yay me!

Now, onto the party!  I demonstrated all sorts of fun things!

That thing I'm holding is the retractable handhed vaccum.  It attaches to the Zipper Bag Adaptor, which you can use to seal the FoodSaver Zipper Bags.

I used it to seal a leftover hot dog the kids didn't eat.
There's also a wine bottle sealer that attaches to the handheld vaccum as well!!!!! Whoot!

I then demonstrated how to make a bag out of the FoodSaver Rolls.
It's so simple....and it's fun!

We decided to seal the leftover steak with the bag we made.
(She was making that face because my son was absolutely amazed and excited to see the FoodSaver in action!  You can see his tiny hand next to my right hand on the table)

We had lots of leftover guacamole, so I demonstrated how to re-seal a package.

Lastly, we had a crazy idea....
Would a watermelon fit into a FoodSaver bag????
Would it seal???
We decided it would be fun to try.
So we did.
We all giggled the entire time!

It worked!!!!!! (It looks like Mandy swallowed a watermelon, but I assure you, that is just her beautiful 37 week belly!)

We had a FANTASTIC time at our FoodSaver $aver Sunday BBQ Party!  Everyone said it was definitely a machine they would use.  In fact, one of my guests mentioned he would like to buy a 40 lb. box of chicken with me and use the FoodSaver to seal it!  He said it's on his Christmas list!  Mandy, also said it was going to be on her Christmas list.  (Especially after I told them the bags were reusable, so the expense would go a long way!)

  1. You're "preachin' to the choir" as far as I'm concerned. I have a Foodsaver and can't remember how I ever got along without it!!!! Glad to hear someone spreadin' the word!
